What the IRS Data Book Revealed

The IRS released its 2025 Data Book covering tax filings by entity type, number of returns filed electronically, tax collections, examinations, and more that occurred during the government’s fiscal year ending September 30, 2025. The number of business returns filed: 2.35 million C corporations, 6.15 million S corporations, and 5.21 million partnerships. As of the end of FY 2025, for returns filed for tax years 2015 through 2023, the IRS examined 0.36% of individual returns filed and 0.57% of corporation returns filed. #IdeaoftheDay
