What do small business owners think about prospects for 2024?

According to the SBE Council’s Small Business Checkup Survey (Q4-2023), many small business owners have faith in their business but heavy concerns about the economy. The top 5 concerns: inflation (53%), economic uncertainty (35%), recession/slowdown (30%), rising interest rates (21%) and (TIED) gasoline prices and energy costs (18%) and high taxes and expiring tax provisions favorable to small businesses (18%). The outlook for economic conditions in the next six months is mixed, with 27% expecting improvement and 37% anticipating worsening conditions. 32% predict conditions will remain the same. #IdeaoftheDay
