Even though you’re not a public company, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has proposed a rule requiring companies with 100 or more employees to report on their compensation to all employees — management and rank-and-file. The proposal is poised to take effect on September 30, 2017 (the same date that such employees already file their Employer Information Return (EEO-1) about sex, race, and ethnicity with the EEOC). It would make employers categorize their employees into 12 categories. Find more information here. Could this proposal be expanded to smaller businesses?
