W-2 or 1099 Workers: Which Is Better?

According to a Harris poll, 38% of companies’ work is done by independent contractors. This is due in part to the inability to hire employee turnover (over the past 2 years, companies have lost 23% of their employees). But there are disadvantages of using 1099 workers, such as stability. From the worker perspective, while being an independent contractor provides flexibility, comes at a price: lack of career support and proper compensation as well as isolation. #IdeaoftheDay
