PC Magazine reported that businesses should educate employees about the danger of using public Wi-Fi. “Seventy-seven percent of respondents [to a survey from ObserveIT] said they connect to free or public Wi-Fi on a work phone or computer while traveling. More than 63% said they use public Wi-Fi to access work emails and files. Some 21% have left a work device unattended in public while traveling or working remotely.” A virtual private network, such as SiteLock’s VPN, offers a layer of protection for company data in these situations.
