While yesterday was the federal holiday for Veterans Day, today, November 11th is in recognition of the armistice for World War I, and for all those who’ve served since then. Many businesses are offering veterans and their families special breaks today. Keep in mind that businesses hiring certain veterans may be eligible for the work opportunity tax credit. There are 5 categories of qualified veterans for this purpose. But employers must submit IRS Form 8850 to their state workforce agency within 28 days of the start of employment to get the credit. #IdeaoftheDay
