Be sure this does not result in unequal treatment of job candidates. Effective January 1, 2023, New York City’s new law requires employers using AI for this purpose to satisfy a bias audit requirement and to notify candidates or employees that reside in the city to be notified about the use of such tools in the assessment or evaluation for hire or promotion. The effective date of this law may be delayed, but employers nationwide should take note if using automated employment decision tools (AEDTs); similar AI-related laws may be coming their way. #IdeaoftheDay
