While you’re not legally required to have an employee handbook, if you do, it must reflect current laws. Note state and local law changes effective January 1, 2023, that may impact terms and conditions in your handbook and revise accordingly. For example, employees in Colorado and Oregon will begin contributing to a paid family and medical leave fund in 2023, entitling them to certain paid time off in certain situations; this pay withholding and time off option should be in the handbook. #IdeaoftheDay
