Businesses are required to update any change in responsible party information within 60 days of the change. This is done on Form 8822-B. Because the IRS suspects that much of the information it has on responsibly parties is incorrect or out of date, it’s sending letters to about 100,000 businesses with Employer Identification Numbers (EINs). #IdeaoftheDay
