A report released last month by eHealth on Small Business Health Insurance: Costs, Trends and Insights 2018 (for groups with fewer than 30 employees) found that premiums decreased slightly but individual deductibles increased considerably more. Most (73%) small businesses offering coverage used Point of Service (POS) or Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans. The report also found that 66% of SBs offering coverage did so to hire and retain the best workers and 43% did so for moral reasons; only 11% did so for tax benefits.
