Treat health insurance for self-employed as business deduction?

That’s what the Tax Fairness for Self-Employed Act of 2021 would do…allow self-employed individuals to deduct their health insurance as a business deduction in the same way that corporations do. This doesn’t have any net savings for income taxes, but would save on self-employment tax. The legislation is bi-partisan, but similar efforts have failed in the past. #IdeaoftheDay
