Today is the Great American Total Solar Eclipse (called this because it will only be visible in the continental U.S.). Best viewing is the arc from Oregon to South Carolina (across a swath of about 70 miles), but other locations will see about 50% or more of the eclipse. Caution: Use special glasses to view the eclipse to avoid eye damage.
