Ten Thousand Commandments: Regulatory Burden on U.S. Businesses and Individuals

The Competitive Enterprise Institute released its 2023 Ten Thousand Commandments report. The cost of the regulatory burden is $1.939 trillion, which is 7.4% of the U.S. domestic gross domestic product. During calendar year 2022, Congress enacted 247 laws and agencies issued 3,168 rules. “Federal environmental, safety and health, social, and economic regulations grip the economy, making it needlessly harder and more expensive to run a household or business in this country.”  #IdeaoftheDay
