The Competitive Institute released its annual report on the cost burden imposed on the American economy by federal regulators. Now in its 28th year, the Ten Thousand Commandments report estimates the cost of regulatory compliance and economic effects of federal intervention at $1.927 trillion annually. This year’s report also examines three main ways the Biden administration has radically changed regulatory agencies, by ending an important transparency requirement, ending a directive to eliminate two rules for every one new rule adopted, and to use a “whole of government” approach to imposing controversial climate and social justice priorities as part of all policies going forward. #IdeaoftheDay
