Tax time brings out the worst for phone calls directed to consumers. The IRS warns to beware of calls claiming to be from the National Taxpayer Advocate; they’re just scams. Consumer Reports found that complaints to the FTC about robocalls are 20% higher in March and April (tax season) than in January, and fall off after April 15th. Bottom line: Beware!
