Today is the filing deadline for 2022 federal income tax returns for individuals and calendar-year C corporations (longer for victims of certain disasters). Individuals can obtain a 6-month filing extension by filing Form 4868. Corporations can obtain a 6-month filing extension by submitting Form 7004 today. Check state laws for return deadlines and extensions. Today is also the due date for the first installment of estimated tax for 2023 for individuals and C corporations. #IdeaoftheDay
