Tax Credit to Incentivize Truck Drivers

In 2021, there was a deficit of 80,000 truck drivers, a shortage that contributed to supply chain problems. The Strengthening Supply Chains Through Truck Drivers Incentive Act is a bi-partisan measure in the House to give a refundable tax credit of $7,500 to individuals with Class A commercial drivers licenses who drive at least 1,900 hours in the year. There’s another credit for those enrolled in a registered trucking apprenticeship.  #IdeaoftheDay
