Tax Credit for Building a Commercial Production Facility

Proposed legislation — the Growing Small Businesses Act — would allow small businesses to claim a 25% tax credit for the cost of buildings and equipment in their first commercial production facility. If not used as an income tax offset, the credit would be refundable up to $250,000 against payroll tax. The measure is designed to help bakers, brewers, software companies, and others to expand their businesses.
