The U.S. Supreme Court decision on February 20, 2026, striking down Trump administration tariffs ordered the federal government to take action with respect to refunds. The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said that it would launch a streamlined refund system to process refunds about April 20th (its process is underway but not yet complete). Refunds can be claimed by U.S. importers of record or consignees who directly paid tariffs levied under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) (an expected 300,000 businesses). But refunds aren’t automatic; businesses have to sign up to get refunds via ACH. You can sign up now. #IdeaoftheDay
