Until now, if the IRS found an employee’s name and Social Security number didn’t match what an employer submitted, the Social Security Administration (SSA) would send a notice to the employer. It’s estimated that more than 1.5 million notices were issued in 2019 and 2020. No more; it’s only educating employers of the issuing correct information and making corrections to W-2s electronically. #IdeaoftheDay
