The SBA’s Office of Advocacy has a Small Business Profile 2017. It shows that there are 29.6 million small businesses (99.9% of all business in the U.S.). Of these, 9.9 million are female owned. They employ 57.9 million workers (47.8% of the U.S. workforce); 80% of all small businesses have no employees (other than the owners). Small businesses account for 97.7% of all U.S. exporters.
