A Gallup Poll found that more self-employed workers hold quality positions compared to employees. The self-employed make up 14% of the U.S. workforce. They have more flexible schedules, greater autonomy over their work, and are using technology more than comparable employees. According to Ray Keating, chief economic of the SBE Council, said: “What unifies [the self-employed] is an independence and willingness to strike out on their own – that is, to take on the risks, uncertainties and opportunities of owning and operating their own enterprises.” #IdeaoftheDay
