Various states offer consumers sales tax-free periods during the year for the purchase of specific items. For example, in Florida, there’s a tax holiday for disaster preparedness items from May 28, 2022, to June 10, 2022, and one for back-to-school purchases from July 25 through August 7. Check your state for sales tax holidays—when they apply, which items are covered, and what dollar limits are set. Find more information from your state.
