The U.S. Economic Development Administration, which is part of the Department of Commerce, provides Economic Adjustment Assistance grants to eligible recipients to capitalize or recapitalize lending programs that service businesses that cannot otherwise obtain traditional bank financing (and in limited situations to governmental entities for public infrastructure). For example, earlier this month, $6.5 million in CARES Act funding was awarded to help small businesses in Florida; funding has also been given in August to Illinois, Iowa, and Pennsylvania. Check for such funding in your area.
