Previously, a rule from the Department of Interior had imposed severe restrictions on the use of privately-owned land by ranchers, farmers, home builders, and other small businesses when there was any hint that a species was threatened. The NFIB challenged the rule in 2016 and now there’s been regulatory revision. The government must now use a more reasoned and scientific approach when imposing restrictions on the use of private land.
