Seattle, WA’s Independent Contractor Protections Ordinance went into effect yesterday. The ordinance is designed to increase transparency of payments to independent contractors. Hiring entities must provide certain disclosures to contractors, including a compensation schedule and pay schedule (which must provide for pay within 30 days of contract performance). New York City has a set of 6 laws to protect food delivery drivers (effective dates of these laws differ). #IdeaoftheDay
