With the federal government spending over $400 billion in goods and services, it’s the largest purchaser in the world. Small businesses received $132.9 billion in federal contracts in fiscal year 2019, according to the federal government’s FY19 procurement scorecard. This represents 26.50% of prime contract dollars. Contracts to women-owned businesses slightly exceeded (at 5.19%) the contract goal for the second year in a row.
