Pay Attention to State and Local Mandates

While federal laws allows but does not require small employers to provide paid COVID-19-related sick leave through September 30, 2021, states and locality may have their own requirements. For example, Marin County in California requires employers with 25 or fewer employees to provide supplemental paid sick leave for certain COVID-19-related reasons. California law already covers employers with 26 or more workers.  #IdeaoftheDay
