OSHA’s mission is to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for workers by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance. One way it does this is by pursuing complaints by employees. On February 13, 2023, OSHA began a pilot program to streamline the whistleblower intake process. It’s designed to quickly close complaints if they’re not covered by an OSHA-administered whistleblower statute (there are more than 2 dozen of them), they’re untimely, or they don’t allege what’s required (i.e., that there’s been retaliation or other prohibited activity). The program is set to run for one year. #IdeaoftheDay
