Multiple federal courts ruled that the Department of Labor’s (DOL) authority under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) was violated when, in 2024, it increased the salary threshold for determining whether certain employees (“white-collars”) were exempt from the overtime rule. Now, the DOL published a notice clarifying that the pre-2024 salary level of $35,568 still applies (it had been scheduled to be $58,656 as of January 1, 2025). #IdeaoftheDay
