NY Requires Retailers to Have Workplace Safety Programs

Effective today, New York’s Retail Worker Safety Act requires retailers to create workplace violence prevention training and policies. New York’s DoL will have a model policy and training program. Effective on January 1, 2027, large retailers (those employing more than 500 employees nationwide) must have panic buttons accessible to employees.
