In 2024, the IRS made it clear that brokers would have to report digital asset transactions on or after January 1, 2025, on Form 1099-DA. Brokers told the IRS they needed more time to comply and the IRS granted an extension. Reporting will begin for transactions on or after January 1, 2026. #IdeaoftheDay
