Check your state and local government for changes in minimum wage rates for 2023. For example, a $15 rate applies for all employers in California (in 2022 it was only for businesses with more than 25 employees). The rates have increased on January 1 in Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia. A handful of states have rate increases during the year. Paycor has a state-by-state chart showing the rates for 2023 as compared with 2022. #IdeaoftheDay
