National Hispanic Heritage Month

This year it runs from September 15 (the anniversary of independence for 5 Latin American countries) to October 15. Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes the contributions made and the important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrate their heritage and culture. Today 57.5 million people (18%) of the American population is of Hispanic or Latino origin.
