October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. NDEAM dates back to 1945, when Congress declared the first week in October “National Employ the Physically Handicapped Week.” This year’s theme is “The Right Talent, Right Now.” You can download a poster for display at your workplace. DOL’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) has a Campaign for Disability Employment to encourage businesses of all sizes and in all industries to participate this month. Take this time to review your company’s policies to ensure they convey a commitment to an inclusive workplace culture.
