There’s a 60-day extension beyond the “outbreak period,” which runs from March 1, 2020, until the announced end of the National Emergency or other date set by the IRS or other federal agency. In other words, the outbreak period is disregarded when it comes to any COBRA deadlines. For example, COBRA elections usually have a 30- or 60-day period, but this is now extended.
