That’s the conclusion for a recent report from the SBA’s Office of Advocacy. Less than 2% of Millennials reported self-employment in 2014, compared with 7.6% for Generation X (born 1963 to 1981), and 8.3% for Baby Boomers (born 1944 to 1962). Despite some Millennial stars, such as Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Andrew Mason (Groupon), and Matthew Mullenweg (WordPress), there is a serious deficient of Millennials relying on self-employment income. The report clashes with a Huffington Post article in 2014 that reported 60% of Millennials considered themselves entrepreneurs.
