This new law (which is part of the National Defense Authorization Act signed into law on August 7, 2018) provides funding for more SBA loans and technical assistance to companies transitioning to employee ownership (through ESOPs and worker-owned cooperatives). It will help an estimated 2.3 million Baby Boomer owners seeking to transfer ownership of their businesses in the coming years, and the millions of employees who work for them.
