Damage or destruction to business property can be devastating to small business, and it takes time to recoup insurance proceeds and rebuild. Perhaps even worse is the loss of revenue … money that would have been earned during the disaster event and recovery period. It’s been estimated that more than half of the citrus crop in Florida was destroyed by Hurricane Irma, and it will take years to regrow. Lesson: look into business interruption/continuation coverage.
