Employers who fail to pay required minimum wage and overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) are liable for the unpaid amounts plus the same amount as liquidated damages. The damages are owed settlements in lieu of litigation (liquidated damages). #IdeaoftheDay
