The IRS is hiring about 3,000 people for the Small Business/Self-Employed Division. According to the acting deputy commissioner of the SB/SE Division, 700 of these will be revenue officers and 800 will be revenue agents. And CI Deputy Chief Eric Hylton of the IRS Criminal Investigation Division, speaking before the American Bar Association Section of Taxation, said it was planning to hire about 250 new agents.
