IRS Initiatives for Cyber Security Next Year

At the Security Summit held in June, leaders from the IRS and state tax agencies, along with private sector tax leaders, discussed ways to combat identity theft tax fraud. Initiatives for 2017 include expanding a W-2 Verification Code to test about 50 million forms and identifying additional data elements from tax returns that can be used to improve authentication.
