How many people are employed by small businesses?

According to a report from Business.org, 47.3% of workers in the U.S. are employed by small businesses. The percentage varies by state, with Montana topping out at 67.2% and Vermont at 61%, while Florida was at only 41.1%. The over 6 million small businesses collectively employ more than 61 million workers. If 5% of existing small businesses closed nationwide, more than 3 million people would be out of a job.  #IdeaoftheDay
