The price of gas at the pump is down, but a big chunk of what you pay goes for taxes. The Tax Foundation has a map showing state taxes and fees on gasoline as of July 2020 (cents per gallon). California is the highest, with 62.47¢; Alaska is the lowest at 13.77¢.
