A prerequisite to a Health Savings Account is being covered by a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). Certain preventive services can be covered by an HDHP without a deductible and won’t disqualify the plan. During the national health emergency that was COVID-19, HDHPs could provide for testing and treatment without a deductible. Starting January 1, 2025, HDHPs must require a deductible for these services to keep the HDHP qualified. #IdeaoftheDay
