Despite the pandemic, Halloween continues to be important to retailers as people find ways to celebrate. The National Retail Federation estimates that 172 million Americans will celebrate the holiday. Total spending on costumes, candy, decorations, and greeting cards will reach nearly $8 billion. Average spending is expected to be $92.12 (up from $86.27 in 2019). While hand-out candy sales may be down, there are expected to be increases in home decorating and carving pumpkins. #IdeaoftheDay
