The National Retail Federation estimates that Halloween spending this year will reach a record $13.1 billion (up from last year’s record setting $11.6 billion). Seventy-three percent of consumers plan to celebrate Halloween this year. Top holiday activities: handing out candy (66%), decorating homes or yards (51%), dressing up in costume (49%), carving a pumpkin (46%), and throwing or attending a party (32%).
