According to SCORE, hiring during the last 6 months increased by 13% for full-time workers, but 37% for one-time project “gig” workers. The reasons for choosing a gig worker over an employee: more than half said specialized expertise. Other reasons included concerns about cash to make payroll and the cost of employee healthcare.
