Personal protective equipment (PPE) includes hard hats, gloves, goggles, safety shoes, safety glasses, welding helmets and goggles, hearing protection devices, respirators, coveralls, vests, harnesses, and full body suits designed to minimize exposure to hazards that can cause severe injuries and illnesses in the workplace. A final OSHA rule, which became effective on January 13, 2025, requires the construction industry to ensure that PPE “fits properly.” What is a proper fit? OSHA plans to issue more guidance.
