Two bi-partisan measures could give more rights to franchisees, many of whom are small business owners. The American Franchisee Act (H.R. 5267) would assure franchisees that they are independent business owners (i.e., they would not automatically be deemed joint employers). The Franchisee Freedom Act (H.R. 4614) would give franchisees the right to sue franchisors for violations of the FTC Franchise Rule. #IdeaoftheDay
